If you don’t believe in yourself, then who will? Our ambitions and aspirations are not welcomed by everyone, and with growth there is opposition that wants to stunt it. These oppositions can be relentless and their determination is as serious as our reasons to succeed. However, the upper-hand belongs to those who strive and make […]
Beginning in January of 2012 Huami Magazine is asking all of its readers and supporters to support businesses in our community. These businesses are selected because they have proven their commitment to serving their community through efforts of giving back.
The business selected to patronize is Occasions II Restaurant in Burlington. Lead by Elois Lettley, Occasions II has been serving the citizens of Burlington and its surrounding areas delicious and hot food for many years. We are asking everyone to come out and enjoy their event, Soulfood Fridays on January 20th from 5pm-8pm. The cost of the buffet is $11.50. The menu includes Ribs, Chicken, Chitterlins, Macaroni & Cheese, Cabbage, and more. Bring your family or come by yourself.
Elios Lettley is a native of Alamance County. She took over the business after catering in her home for many years. Without any business knowledge she entered in the business head first and adjusted. She changed the name from Occasions to Occasions II because some people thought that catering was all that she did.
Occasions II is known by the citizens of Burlington as a business that gives back. She often gives free meals to disadvantaged kids who may otherwise go without something to eat. There is also the Praise Poetry Posture event where homeless individuals are fed and ministered to. All of the proceeds of this event are funneled back into the local homeless shelter. Lettey has also provided the women’s shelter in Burlington with free food and clothes for their tenants.
Lettley also allows area high school students to partake in a internship program at her restaurant and Occasions II plays host to a Back To School block party where she gives away school supplies to students in need.
The menu at Occasions II is rich in soul and redefines the meaning of tasteful. We look forward to seeing you there.
