Rhonda Sampson of Greensboro has created two unique forums for women that have expressed an interest and desire to learn how to play golf. The Greensboro Women’s Golf Group is a public forum on Facebook created to highlight, encourage, and promote more local participation of women in the sport of golf.

Her other group, the Greensboro Women’s Golf Meet-up (, offers women a golf calendar announcing proposed play dates and times, and gives members an ability to suggest play dates compatible with their known availability.

Sampson’s inspiration for creating these groups came from her love of the sport and an inability to find local women that play golf. Her mission is to start a women’s golf league in Greensboro and the surrounding areas that offer women an opportunity to learn how to play golf.

Her meet-up group attracts women of all skill levels and offers an opportunity to learn, connect and collaborate with other prominent women that not only play golf, but also make a positive difference in their home, church and their communities at large.

She says this is a place where your weaknesses can become strengths and your strengths can be expanded to create a lasting footprint of success. No prior golf experience or golf clubs are required for either group, both offer women a comfortable environment of learning, the ability to play golf and grow your skill level at a pace comfortable for your current lifestyle and work schedule. Joining is a great excuse to invest in your first set of golf clubs or finally dust off those unused clubs hidden in the garage.

Sampson’s first event will be held at the illustrious Grandover Golf & Tennis Resort’s Golf Shop, Saturday, September 29, 2012. The event instructor will be Grandover’s highly acclaimed Jim Nemeti, PGA Master Professional in Instruction, Head Golf Professional since 1998.
