Second Chance Coalition was formed and incorporated in January 2016. Tamia McCray, who is member of Delta Sigma Theta, INC., has made a commitment to be actively involved within her community through giving and serving. She is a woman who wears many hats including that of a entrepreneur and business owner.

Some of her ventures include Weave Doctors Salon, which has two locations, one in Greensboro and Greenville, N.C. Since the inception of these businesses, McCray has steered several self help and empowerment events called Love Peace and Selfies. With the success of these events, Second Chance Coalition was born.

McCray says she immediately recognized the need and knew she had to put something in place. I was already doing it, but lacked the the proper credentials to take it to the next level,” she says. Second Chance is a non profit organization with a 501 (c) 3 certification that allows it enhance the over all quality of life of individuals in need. It is community based and once qualified, individuals can immediately participate.

Some of the services offered by Second Chance Coalition include Empowerment Programs, Mentorship Workshops, Self Love Workshops, Mental Health Awareness, Life Coaching, Life Assessments, Domestic Violence Awareness, Health Agenda with a focus on Cancer and an HIV Prevention, and a Teen Challenge.
