Tawanda Blake describes herself as a regular person. She doesn’t harness super powers. Her life isn’t uncomplicated. In fact, there are certain facets that are very complicated. However at the end of thd day it is safe to say that she is normal with everyday ambitions, problems and dreams.

Blake is a big dreamer. “If you only knew the successful scenarios for my life that I put in my head, you’d think I was nuts. I do believe that anything is feasible though… especially if it’s something you want bad enough,” she says. “I try to function with integrity and good character and finish what I start unless I feel that someone is trying to take my kindness as a weakness. Then things can get a little interesting.”

Blake acknowledged her passion for writing at a very young age. As a child she used her imagination to tell stories and other things. As she matured her writing remained consistent, even if she lost interest in other things. She attended North West School of the Performing Arts for Writing and Art. She wrote poetry and posted things on Facebook. Her followers including family and friends would tell her that she needed to write a book, and so she did.

She published her first book in 2010. After that she wrote an article for EB Magazine that following December. She published her second book in 2011. Urban Tymes Magazine wrote a review for the second book and followed that feature with a request for a poem. Blake wrote for them from 2011 until 2015. She has been a blogger and freelance writer ever since.

Blake says she loves the rush that comes from writing and being able to create stories and know that she wrote something that others will enjoy reading. “I like creating and writing romantic sentence structure. It’s like meeting someone for the first time and loving them for the first time. That’s what each piece does for me,” she says.
