There are so many twist and turns in life. While traveling this road it’s very easy to become disoriented. We set goals, but once our focus is compromised, we are subject to making the wrong turns and find ourselves treading paths that were not written in God’s plan. These are times when we get that gut feeling that we are out of place. No matter how hard we work to make it work, it doesn’t because what God has for us, it is for us.

Have you ever performed a self assessments. I call them “Lifes Update”. These evaluations help us to determine where we are, what we have left behind, and how close we are to reaching our goals. What I declare as to what I need, doesn’t necessarily line up with what God says I need. I am still learning that what He says is final.

Five years ago, God blessed me and allowed me to start a publication that would glorify Him and also recognize African Americans for their achievements and accomplishments. As we celebrate five years of providing our readers and advertisers with consistent service, I confess that we wouldn’t have made it this far without the support of our community and the dedication from our writers, photographers, and consultants.

Huami Magazine doesn’t strive to be just another publication. We want to be the best. Our brand and identity is unique and genuine. We don’t measure success by advertisement sales, but instead on how our material positively impacts the lives of our readership. Our goal is to inspire and inform, and done so in a positive fashion. We are not judges, for only God is. However, we will continue to share His good works with each issue that He blesses us to produce.

What God has for me, it is for me. No man can close the doors that God has opened for me. Even if I would cross paths with another person who bares the same name as Terry L. Watson, and walked like me, and talked like me, it doesn’t matter. As it is true that God does bless many, I know what He has called me to do, He expects me to fulfill. My blessing is tied to my obedience. I honor and thank God for giving me purpose in life
